In April 2016, we unleashed a creative frenzy at the RoadBurn festival, Holland’s loudest celebration of sound, with the Fuzzadelic SkullShow expo. This epic collaboration brought together talented artists, including Peter Pan Speedrock’s Peter van Elderen, to reimagine the iconic SkullFuzz pedal.

One standout piece was Peter van Elderen’s interpretation, which we brought to life in a limited edition run of 25 handcrafted units. Each Art SkullFuzz pedal was meticulously assembled with the same insane, versatile, and powerful fuzz circuit as the original SkullFuzz. These exclusive pedals boasted a fiber-strengthened casting material housing, ensuring durability and strength.

SORCIERE the Altar. “The Most Expensive Guitar Effect in the World”.

It is finally here, Dr. No has put the finishing touches on “SORCIÈRE the Altar”.

 

As you can probably know by now, since its inception in 2004, Dr. No is not your average guitar effects maker.
Dr. No seeks to push the boundaries of meaning and imagination to stimulate the creative aspect of creation.
The boundaries of functionality, quality and art are challenged and played with in the mysterious experimental laboratory of Dr. No located deep in the country side of France.

 

 

 

                       

Dr. No’s work, as you know it, often has an origin in a bigger idea.
Often these ideas are unrealistic to realize and to make on a larger scale and the original ideas often only exist in Dr. No’s imagination.

                       

This time Dr. No has taken the trouble to work out an original idea that until now only existed in his imagination.

For more than 4 years and over a thousand hours, Dr. No has spent to shape and compile every part from scratch by hand so that the exact image in his head became reality.

                       
This initial idea of how I thought how SORCIÈRE should look and sound like is totally unworkable and not feasible to create in scale or even more units. This idea was even so big that I needed to split up this project to make it workable on scale. The NECROFUZZICON, DJINN and DYBBUK came from this original idea that where made available for audience.

This piece literally took 1000’s of hours spread over 4 years to realize the idea that only existed in his head.

The results is this piece called “SORCIÈRE the Altar”.

                  

“A bit more about the origin of SORCIÈRE the Altar. Sorciere the Altar is a compilation of a self-invented religion, in which magic and the occult are central without consulting a single source. It is a compilation of all kinds of superstitions, religions, magic and occult matters summarized in one new form that should appeal to the imagination and arouse a certain affinity to stimulate the creation process.”
“The 3 in-house designed and handcrafted circuits and the effects that are housed in SORCIÈRE, are in line with the feeling that SORCIÈRE should evoke. For example, SORCIÈRE Altar consists of a classic Fuzz, Uni-Vibe and Tone enhancer, as used by many legendary artists who sold their soul to the Devil to gain more acces to creativity.”
